In what is a seemingly unlikely location, some 50km outside of Denmark on the South Coast of Western Australia is the largest publicly displayed private collection of historic and collectable surfboards in Australia.

With our rubbish being incredibly damaging to marine life, it’s unfortunate that plastic is as common a sight as fish nowadays.

Nowadays it appears so many people are eager to take offence about something or rather.

I’m not referring to that nasty little surfing injury that often results into a trip to the doctors and a few stitches, I’m talking about the slice of the pie fin manufacturers have carved out for themselves.

“Oh the price of surfboards are just so expensive.” I am amazed how many, of even my own friends, utter this statement. It is time to get some perspective.

As the great Andy Samberg, aka Connor4Real, once said in his smash hit Equal Rights, “Discrimination, it ain’t right.”

At Smorgasboarder we last took an in-depth look at the wave pool phenomenon in Spring 2014 – fair to say a lot has changed since then.

I can only presume a great white shark has taken offence to his or her sensory bite being referred to as an “attack”.
